On a gorgeous, early spring afternoon, my friend Lucie and I ventured to Saint-Viateur street to try out a café that was getting rave reviews from in-the-know locals. Set in the heart of Montréal’s cool Mile-End neighbourhood, we walked into the light and airy Café Myriade, our senses awaken by a delicious roasted bean scent.
The café’s walls were lined with bags of 49th Parallel coffee, a small roasting company from Vancouver, BC which produces a top-quality coffee bean. We ordered our lattes, my friend delighted to find out the café carries lactose-free almond milk, and settled onto a stool by the window. We had a lovely hour chatting and people watching, while enjoying our expertly made coffees. A wonderful way to spend a lazy afternoon.
